Our experiences are designed as small group travel experiences to provide travel enthusiasts an explosion of tastes, culture, Nigerian hospitality. This small group journey is created for people who want to travel to Africa but don’t know where to start. This experience includes local food and fine dining; on ground experiences that immerse you in local culture that will leave you with memories of a lifetime. We are a concierge-style travel experience designed based on the travelers’ personal interests and budget.

Day 01: Travel Day

Depart International Airport

Day 02: Arrival Day

Upon arrival our Travel & Invest Africa experience host will VIP service at the airport and usher you to your accommodation where you will experience a catered meal and an informal meet greet while you prepare to settle in and relax for the remainder of the day. Later, in all locations you will get an evening driving tour with key stops for Instagram Photos! Get ready to make your friends jealous of your travel experience.

Day 03: Relax Day

Travel to Africa is taxing on your body. So we take it easy on your first full day in Africa. We take you to a local beach or relaxation location where you get to enjoy the view and allow your mind body and spirit to be rejuvenated to enjoy the moment. You made it to Africa! For some its a bucket list, for others it is the beginning of the rest of your life forging new paths on a bright horizon. Dinner is fun, relaxing and local. Prepare for a unique experience informed by all of the information we have gathered about YOU!

Day 04: Local Living & Culture Infiltration

Once you are refreshed and READY to get into all things Africa, we dump you into the deep end. Most of our travelers are risk takers and want to learn as much as they can with first hand experiences. So, we take you to the local markets where we expose you the process of haggling prices and finding items that you can’t even begin to dream of finding in the West for half the price! This is a complete immersion into local living! Prepare to be overtaken with shopping and deal hunting that will allow you to understand life in Africa. Open air markets and small shops with unique finds! Welcome Home!

Day 05: Ancestry & Identity

Did you know that there is a point of NO RETURN in almost every African country in Africa? There is always a place where we can identify how black people were stolen from their homeland and sent to a place against their will. This is a highly emotional day charged with understanding identity and history of the human race. Over the course of this day we take the time to pilgrimage through a specific space and time to pause and pay homage to what was and gain the strength to forge a path ahead. On this pilgrimage we literally walk where our ancestors walked and embrace all that comes with the Point of No Return. Then we celebrate how our travelers were able to RETURN.

Day 06: A Day on the Mainland

You are officially a Nigerian….so we are headed to the mainland in Lagos to learn how to be a Nigerian properly…we will visit some historical landmarks, experience making art with glass, and tour an international hospital to dispel the myth that Nigeria has poor health care.

Day 07: Real Estate in Lagos

Let’s go and see how the rich and famous live in Nigeria! We will take a walking tour a very wealthy Nigerian estate located on an island….READY? We will give you a taste of Africa and it’s bling!

Day 08: Leisure Day

As a group we will choose our own fun! We will meet in the lobby of the hotel and discuss how we want to spend our day, and then we will go and do it. From trips to the mall, stopping at cafes and bakeries to enjoy people watching…we will totally chill this day so you can TAKE IN Lagos. We will go to dinner at one of the best places in Lagos, and right on the water! A night out, and we will dance until we get TIRED!

Day 09: Travel Day

We will depart Lagos and head to Benin City Nigeria. We will enjoy the journey. Once we arrive in Benin City we will check into our hotel and relax enjoy a nice dinner and prepare for the next day.

Day 10: A Day in the Village

You want to enjoy the peace and calm of the village. Fresh food at the source and you will explore the beauty of life on simple terms. You will tour Saint Alice City, the Diaspora Oasis and understand the land ownership process all while be greeted by local Chiefs to welcome you into the community.

Day 11: Exploring benin city

Experience the local museums, the university and teaching hospital as well as several other landmark location within Benin City. You will get an exclusive tour of one of the top precious metals in Edo State, the Bronze Market.

Day 12: Becoming an Edo Benin

We will enjoy a beautiful cultural experience and custom dances finished with the opportunity to preserve your experience with professional photographs.

Day 13 -14: Travel Back to Lagos & Return to USA

Travel back to Lagos and prepare to depart back to the USA.

Travel Information

Passports & Visa

1. In order to travel outside the united states or visit Africa, U.S. Canadian and UK citizens need a valid passport with an expiration date extending at least six months beyond the date of reentry.

2. We recommend having at least one blank passport page for entry visa stamps.

3. If you are not a U.S. or Canadian citizen, you must contact us for specific entry requirements.

4. When you reserve or book a tour with us, our team will make sure you get the best assistance with all this details. We are here for you!

Tour Pace

1. You will walk for at least 30minutes- an hour daily across mostly flat terrain, including cobblestone streets, with few hills or stairs.

2. Travelers should be healthy enough to participate in all included walks without assistance.

3. You should feel comfortable managing your own baggage at times, but our team members are always available to assist with your luggage throughout the experience.

4. Travel & Invest Africa and the Experience Host who accompanies your group are unable to provide special, individual mobility assistance to travelers on tour. The responsibility of the Experience Host and Guide is to ensure the group as a whole enjoys a relaxing and informative journey, and he or she cannot be relied upon to provide ongoing, individualized assistance to any one traveler.

Transportation & Arrival Information

1. Round-trip flights will be privately booked by yourself since we currently do not offer group flights in our packages . Despite not offering group flight bookings, our team members are always available to help with your flight bookings when needed.

2. Upon arrival, a representative from Travel & Invest Africa staff will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. Our representative will be holding a sign for easy identification.

3. Transfers to and from the airport to all destinations are included in any trip you book with us.

Clothing & Packing Tips

1. We recommend packing lightweight, loose-fitting clothing that can be easily layered to accommodate varying temperatures.

2. A sturdy pair of walking shoes or sneakers is recommended for sightseeing and tours.

3. One luggage bag and a carry on is recommended. If you bring two or more luggages above 50kg it will attract a loading and unloading fee of $80.00.

Health & Vaccinations

1. There are no major health risks associated with traveling any of our Africa destinations.

2. At least 60 days prior to departure, check with your doctor or healthcare provider for the latest updates and entry requirements, or visit the Center for Disease Control and Prevention website at cdc.gov.

3. Please note: Yellow fever certificate is required for most Africa destinations. You can call our team for all the necessary health requirements you will need.

4. If you have medication that you take daily, be sure you have enough for each day of the tour as well as any possible delays encountered.

5. If you have dietary restrictions and/or food allergies please notify Travel & Invest Africa at least 30 days prior to departure via email.

Travel Insurance

1. If you are traveling overseas, or even domestically, taking out Travel insurance is highly recommended by the Travel & Invest Africa Team.

2. If you require medical attention while traveling, you may be liable for the cost of your treatment if you do not have travel insurance.

3. Although this isn’t a requirement before traveling we recommend you purchase a travel insurance for your own safety and coverage.

Electricity & Air-Conditioning

1. We recommend packing a universal adapter, as well as a voltage converter if you plan on using your own hairdryer or other device without a built-in converter.

2. There are air-conditions in all the facilities or hotels we accommodate our travelers with.

3.Your hotel may provide irons, and other small appliances. However, these amenities cannot be guaranteed.

Internet Connectivity

1. Wi-Fi is available in all the hotels we accommodate our travelers with.

2. There is no Wi-Fi on any of our buses.

3. Please contact your mobile service provider for information on roaming charges if needed.

Currency & Money Exchange

1. Better rates of exchange are usually available in that Africa country. You can easily exchange your money to a local currency at the airport upon arrival . Our Experience Host at Travel & Invest Africa will gladly assist you as needed.

2. We strongly advise that you take debit/bank cards and credit cards, which can be used to withdraw cash at local banks as needed. (VISA & MASTERCARDS)

3. You can use most debit/credit cards at ATMs on the international networks, but make sure to check with your home bank about international withdrawal fees and restrictions.

4. Inform your bank and credit card company of your travel plans so that they won’t confuse your international purchases for fraudulent charges.

5. International banks and businesses primarily accept debit and credit cards that work with the EMV chip system. If you do not already have at least one debit or credit card with a chip in it, we strongly recommend requesting one from your bank prior to your tour.
